18. Short Story Georgie Gander

Short Story By Georgie Gander

She opened the trapdoor then heard a voice. It whispered to itself in random circles, each time it spoke it said something different. Hesitantly Kate lowered herself through the pitch black hole. Her tiny feet eventually touched the icy cold floor; she immediately slipped over onto her bony bum. The momentum of the fall sent a shock of pain through her fragile body. Kate reached into her left pocket for the torch and pushed the button, suddenly the light flooded before her. It was then that all her emotions screeched to a halt; she instantly froze from shock and dropped the torch. Kate went frigid as she studied the figure in front of her and opened her mouth as though she were going to scream, it immediately swung its wrinkly hands at her, knocking her into unconsciousness.

To be continued.
